Accompanied by a licensed art history guide, you’ll explore the most iconic archaeological landmarks of the Eternal City—from the grandeur of the Roman Forum to the power and spectacle of the Colosseum. Your journey begins in the Roman Forum, once the vibrant heart of political, religious, and commercial life in the Empire. Walk among majestic ruins and temples as your guide reveals fascinating insights into daily Roman life and imperial rule. From the Arch of Titus to the temples of Saturn, Vespasian, and Antoninus Pius, each site tells a vivid story of ancient grandeur. Climb the Palatine Hill for panoramic views of the Forum and Circus Maximus, then make your way to the world’s most iconic arena—the mighty Colosseum. Learn about the architectural wonders of this ancient amphitheater, its role in Roman entertainment, and the spectacle of gladiatorial games. Then step onto the Arena floor, where gladiators once battled for glory, and imagine the roar of 50,000 spectators echoing through the stone walls. Throughout the tour, your guide will share powerful stories and historical anecdotes that make each monument come alive—adding nuance and depth to every stop.
